‘The forced isolation is a favorable time for artistic creation. For me the last two years were especially intensive. New ideas and form-related prospects have emerged. It was about the desire to connect the emotions that accompany the painting with the process of creating graphical matrix. The technique of stencil and monotype became the ideal solution.

Several thematic series have been created: ‘Genesis’, ‘XIV Stories’, ‘Labyrinth’, ‘Nudes’ where female body is the leading motif. Hence the name of the exhibition.

‘Nudes’ is the series most varied from the form perspective and continued for a few years. The other series are the constellations, compositions, and contexts of the leading theme. The artworks selected from all the above mentioned series have created a labyrinth to which I sincerely invite you.

Jan Bosak

Born on 27 January 1970 in Jaslo, Poland. A graduate of the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Rzeszow. Studied at the Faculty of Graphics of Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and received a degree with honors from the copperplate engraving studio in 1995. He obtained his doctorate at the Faculty of Graphics of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 2011.

Lecturer at the Painting and Drawing Studio at the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts of the Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University in 2003 – 2016. Currently he works at the Department of Industrial Design Engineering of the Krakow University of Technology and runs the Open Graphic Design Studio at the Nowa Huta Cultural Center in Krakow.

He creates paintings, graphics and drawings. He organized over a dozen individual exhibitions and took part in several group exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
